On September 19th, we have the honor to have Dawn Jia, Senior Portfolio Manager at CPPIB, to share her story about her career path and the nature of her daily work with us.
Dawn and her team have been awarded as the Top ranked research team in index research and quantitative analysis by Brenden Woods and Greenwich Associates. Currently, she is managing a team of portfolio management professionals, developing complete command of the risk/return contours of the total portfolio and using this command to make effective tactical and strategic decisions.

Speaker Bio:

Dawn Jia is a Senior Portfolio Manager at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). As a member of the Total Portfolio Management department, she is responsible for broad management of the total portfolio and direct management of the Investment Planning Committee (IPC) portfolio, a large multi-asset class top-of-the-house portfolio. She also serves as the secretary of the IPC Investment Decision Committee, assisting in making significant investment decisions for the fund.
Prior to joining CPPIB, Dawn was Vice President and Head of Active Equity for North America at State Street Global Advisors, following on her experience as a portfolio manager at Barclays Global Investors and a quantitative strategist at CIBC World Markets. Dawn holds an MBA and an MS in Engineering; she is also a CFA charter holder.
